Expressway S2 Tunnel in Warsaw (Ursynów Tunnel)
Poland · S2 (Południowa Obwodnica Warszawy / Southern Warsaw Ring Road) · 2.3 km
What this restriction means
ADR assigns every tunnel a restriction category from A (no restrictions) to E (the strictest).
The strictest — closed to almost all dangerous goods, except a short listed set and small limited-quantity loads. Marked with an 'E' sign.
Official ADR wording
Restriction for the carriage of all dangerous goods other than those for which '(-)' is marked in column (15) of Table A of Chapter 3.2, and for all dangerous goods in accordance with the provisions of Chapter 3.4 (limited quantities) if the quantities carried exceed 8 tonnes total gross mass per transport unit. NOTE: for goods assigned to UN 2919 and 3331, tunnel-passage restrictions may instead form part of a special arrangement approved by the competent authority on the basis of 1.7.4.2.
Which cargo is affected
Category E tunnels are the strictest — virtually every dangerous good is restricted, with only a handful of narrow exemptions.
Restrictions & provenance
Category E — most restrictive. Prohibition (sign B-13a + plate T-31 'E') on entry: no marking-required dangerous goods; only exempt consignments and UN 2919, 3291, 3331, 3359, 3373 may pass. Poland's only tunnel notified under ADR 1.9.5 (UNECE notification Poland 2023-02: road S2, part of A2/E30, tunnel on the Southern Bypass of Warsaw — category E).
Ministry of Infrastructure of Poland (Ministerstwo Infrastruktury) / Generalna Dyrekcja Dróg Krajowych i Autostrad (GDDKiA); notified to UNECE secretariat per ADR 1.9.5
